I must confess I have some prejudice with white, rich, blonde women talking about empowerment because they are in a much better position than other minorities, but, I must give her credit... this speech is awesome!
Women can!
I have been in so many work situations where I have been labeled "agressive" for disagreeing with a certain topic and the men in the room feeling unconfortable. I have even been called assertive in a formal feedback session as a negative trait. When I questioned why this was not a good trait, they could not reply back but asked me to be more feminine in my ways.
Many won't understand this video. Which just comes to show their line of thought. I think smart comedy like this that makes us think is the best kind of comedy. I appreciate this and dislike comedy that "steps" on any group, like so many people insist to do.
I really like this video because we often catch these things happening to people all around us. Including myself! So many things can be done to change a structural problem we have, such as, but not limited to, improving self worth.
Shift in Paradigms!
This is in portuguese but everytime I see it I think about many things. It is also just one point view, but a valid one. PS: A simple translation will nott suffice. The context of black people in Brazil is different than in other places and so are the expressions.
In a trip to the US to visit my cousinn and sister I saw this sign. I felt chills just thinking about it and where we have come as a society.
These kind of things just boils my blood. If you think about it, there are many structural changes that need to be done that the rich do not invest on because it simply does not benefit them directly.
Simple translation: People would only understand the need for a secular governement if a bunch of Hindu decided to ban "churrasco" in Brazil. Churrasco is a huge part of brazilian culture. It envolves eating a lot of red meat, including cows, which are holy in Hinduism.
The elections in Brazil in 2018 where very brutal, so much polarization, so many fake news. This shows a bit of how the rich and upper middle class in Brazil let this happen. The "good citizens" who treat their employees "well" but sees them as services and not as real people and have ZERO empathy for the reality of most brazilians.

I love water so much. Swam most of my life. Did water polo. Love waterfalls, rivers, beaches and even bathtubs. The best part is the soothing sound it makes when you immerse your head. It is also part of the reason for shaving my head, to be able to be immerse it as many times as I want!
Brazil has many problems, but it is also one of the best places on earth. People are just phenomenal! People cheering each other just because...why not?
I love this picture: My two dogs after a 1,5 hour hike. They are so happy, they were leash free, exploring, pushing us up the hill. We were also enjoying nature after a long working week. I need some nature time every once in a while to recharge. So, again, I love this picture.
I really like this video. It seems so natural and effortless even though I bet it took many many years of practice to be able to get to this point. He calls it neo-swing, but I still think it is Freestyle!
